The Development Process
Katherine Sanford Housing Society housing is designed to
integrate well into neighbourhoods. Housing is purpose-built
whenever possible to provide a variety of living opportunities.
After selecting a site, the society obtains the necessary
approvals for the housing to be designed and built.
Katherine Sanford Housing Society takes care to ensure that
the housing it develops is accessible and adaptable to the
needs of a wide range of occupants, including individuals
in wheelchairs. Before beginning a new project, the society
consults on design features with many people, including care
providers, current residents, and mental health agencies.
Consultation with the people living in Katherine Sanford housing
is an ongoing process.
Since many people choose to remain in Katherine Sanford housing
for their lifetime, various issues, especially those associated
with aging, arise over the years. Modernizations and improvements
are made to meet individual requirements whenever possible
in order to provide a safe, secure place that people can call
home.
